I have an M-Audio Firewire audio interface attached to my Mac Pro so we can place speakers in the different rooms at the office.

After this device was installed iTunes started crashing:

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE

First I switched my sound preferences to the built-in speakers. iTunes seemed to be running fine on those settings. So I did a hard reboot on the M-Audio and things are running smoothly again ( with sound coming from the M-Audio box again off course ).
Very funky problem, but hopefully it has dissapeared for the time being.

Update: there is an other problem with the device.
When pressing the volume buttons on the Mac keyboard the sound start jumping around.
Not exactly the behavior you would be expecting from a semi-pro soundcard.
M-Audio has stated in their KB that it is not an intented feature of the M-Audio device drivers.

*sigh*
